Kathmandu: President of the Nepali Congress (NC) and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of senior journalist and politician Mathawar Singh Basnet.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the NC President commemorated Basnet’s significant contributions to the establishment and restoration of democracy in Nepal, as well as his efforts in strengthening the party’s organization and advancing journalism. Deuba extended his heartfelt tributes to Basnet, offering condolences to the bereaved family through a press statement issued by the NC.
