Khaira: A fire erupted at Sangrila Ply Industry in Khaira, Ghorahi sub-metropolis in the early hours today and remains uncontrolled. The fire started at around 2:00 am.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Krishna Prasad Lamsal, the Chief District Officer of Dang, reported that firefighters from various municipalities, including Tulsipur, Lamahi, Bansgadhi in Bardiya, Kohalpur in Banke, Shivaraj in Kapilvastu, and Rupandehi, have arrived to assist in controlling the blaze.
The presence of a significant stock of raw materials within the industry is complicating efforts to extinguish the fire, and it is expected to take more time to bring it under control. However, the risk to nearby settlements has now been averted.
The disaster is estimated to cause a significant loss, though details are still awaited. The Nepali Army, Nepal Police, the Armed Police Force, and locals are collaborating in efforts to douse the fire.
