Kathmandu: The Nepal Police arrested 16 people on charge of killing a youth at Khadkagaun, Kalanki, in the Capital City on Monday evening. Those accused were made public on Tuesday.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Avaya Tamang, also known as Abe, aged 23, from Melung Rural Municipality-4 in Dolakha district, and residing in Chandragiri Municipality in Kathmandu, was killed in a gang fight between two groups in Khadkagaun, Kalanki. Police reports indicate that Tamang succumbed to serious injuries inflicted by sharp weapons and iron rods wielded by the 16 individuals, including Ashish Shrestha from Parsa district, currently living in Syauchatar area in Nagarjun Municipality-10, as stated by Superintendent of Police Apil Raj Bohara, the spokesperson for District Police Range Kathmandu.
Further investigations into the accused have been initiated, with permission from the district court to keep them in custody for five days. The list of arrestees includes Ashish Shrestha, 21, Sujan Tamang, 21, Raj Aryal, 27, Denial BK, 20, Nischal Blon Tamang, 20, Sushan Shrestha, 19, Binaya Alemagar, 23, Khemraj Bahadur Magar, 21, Ranjit Shrestha, 22, and others from Kathmandu, Sindhuli, Sarlahi, Sunsari, Dhading, Udayapur, Gorkha, and other districts.
