Kathmandu: Ambassador of Thailand to Nepal, Suwapong Sirisorn, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today. The meeting comes ahead of Prime Minister Oli’s first official visit to Thailand, which is occurring at the invitation of Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Ambassador Sirisorn’s meeting with Prime Minister Oli sets the stage for strengthening bilateral relations as a delegation led by Prime Minister Oli is scheduled to depart for Bangkok on April 1. The visit coincides with the 6th Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) Summit, which will take place on April 4.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including the Prime Minister’s Chief Advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal and representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, underscoring the importance of the upcoming diplomatic engagements.
