Bhairahawa: Nepal Police Club has clinched the title of Prime Minister Cup Men’s National Cricket Tournament. In the final match held at Siddhartha Cricket Stadium, Bhairahawa, today, Nepal Police won the title defeating Tribhuvan Army Club by six wickets.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Nepal Police Club chased the 155-run victory target and won the match in 25.2 overs at a loss of four wickets. Key contributions came from Kushal Bhurtel, who made 61 runs in 70 balls, while Amit Shrestha and Dilip Nath added 39 and 31 runs respectively, with Nath remaining not out. Sahab Alam played a crucial role in the victory by taking three wickets, with Naren Saud contributing with one wicket.
Earlier in the match, Tribhuvan Army Club, invited to bat first, managed to score 154 runs, losing all their wickets in 43 overs. Basir Ahmed stood out with a performance of 86 runs in 104 balls, supported by Captain Binod Bhandari with 29 runs and Bibek Yadav with 11 runs. Other batsmen from the club were unable to reach double-digit scores.
On the bowling side for Nepal Police, Karan KC and Sagar Dhakal both took three wickets each, while Captain Dipendra Singh Airee secured two wickets. Lalit Rajbanshi and Gulshan Jha took one wicket each. The tournament featured a total of 10 teams, including departmental teams of the Nepali Army, the Nepal Police, and the Armed Police Force.
