Gauradaha: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has laid the foundation stone of the Gauradaha City Hospital, Jhapa today. The foundation-laying ceremony was organized at Chautu Chowk, Ward No. 1 of the municipality.
According to National News Agency Nepal, PM Oli stated that the hospital will provide medical facilities to local residents as well as people from neighboring India. He emphasized the potential for service expansion based on need and affirmed the government’s commitment to offering basic services through information and technology.
The Prime Minister called upon the youth to engage in professionalism and employment within the country, highlighting the government’s campaign for national development through constructive work.
An agreement has been signed with J and J Construction Service to construct the hospital on two bighas of land, with a budget of Rs 125.979 million. The project is slated for completion by Magh 14, 2083 BS.
The initial announcement for constructing a 15-bed basic hospital at all local levels was made in 2075 BS during PM Oli’s previous tenure. However, the Gauradaha hospital project faced delays due to issues with land acquisition.
The ceremony was also attended by Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Devendra Dahal and Chief Minister of Koshi Province Hikmat Kumar Karki.
