Sunsari: Two people were injured in a shooting that took place this evening at Dewangunj rural municipality-2, Rasi.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the injured have been identified as Rabindra Yadav, 24, of Dewanganj-2, and Shivu Kumar Mehta of ward no. 1, as stated by police inspector at the District Police Office, Sunsari, Dinesh Adhikari.
Yadav, who was shot by an unidentified person, is in normal condition now. He is undergoing treatment at a local clinic, police said.
Another injured, Mehta, is being treated at Biratnagar-based Nobel Hospital, the District Police Office, Sunsari shared.
Police said they were looking for those involved in the shooting, which was believed to have taken place due to a dispute between gangs linked to smuggling. Further investigation into the incident is underway, police said.
