Nepali Badminton Team Departing for Junior South Asian Games in Bhutan


Kathmandu: The Nepali badminton team is all set to leave for Thimphu, Bhutan on Tuesday to participate in the Junior South Asian Games. A 12-member team comprising players from three different age groups will compete in the Games scheduled from August 15 to 18.



According to National News Agency Nepal, the U-15 male category includes Deep Thing and Sudesh Rajakoti, while the U-15 female category features Sharnim Shrestha and Nibha Rai. Representing the U-17 male category are Subin Shrestha and Sadip Rai, with Rihana Sherchan and Dilasha Thapa competing in the U-17 female category.



In the U-20 male category, Prince Dahal and Kshitiz Khanal will be the contenders, whereas Rashila Maharjan and Ayushma Nepal will compete in the U-20 female category. The team will be guided by coach Sunil Barahi and managed by Birendra Shrestha.



The Member Secretary of the National Sports Council, Tanka Lal Ghising, officially bade farewell to the team during a program on Monday.
