Baglung: The Road Division Office has successfully completed the maintenance of the 14-kilometer Baglung-Beni road, investing a total of Rs 32.1 million in the project.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the road, which serves as an alternative to the Maldhunga-Beni route, had deteriorated significantly, posing a risk to travelers due to the presence of cracks, potholes, landslide debris, and worn-out asphalt. The repair works aimed to address these concerns and improve safety for commuters.
Engineer Bishnu Prasad Lamichhane from the Road Division Office explained that the road has been widened by removing landslide debris in various sections, including Hulake, Bhasbhase, Dhadeni, Sim, and Pangrekhola. Additionally, a comprehensive drainage system has been installed featuring slopes, gravel, and asphalt to facilitate proper water flow.
He also mentioned the construction of concrete drainage channels, gabion walls, and retaining walls designed to manage rainwater effectively, ensuring the road’s durability and safety during adverse weather conditions.
