Bajura: The Sanfe-Martadi Highway, a critical route linking the district headquarters, has been obstructed following incessant rain that began Friday night.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Police Inspector and Information Officer at the District Police Office Bajura, Dev Bahadur Chaudhary, reported that the highway blockage resulted from a flood that hit the Rila River in Bodimalika Municipality-4. The flood stemmed from landslides triggered by continuous rainfall from uphill Rila village, which caused significant disruption on the highway.
Inspector Chaudhary informed that efforts are underway by The Road Division Office to clear the debris using a JCV machine. However, the obstruction has already created difficulties for the movement of both long and short-distance vehicles, significantly affecting local transportation.
He further noted that despite attempts to clear the landslide, the persistent rain and subsequent landslides have made it challenging to resume traffic along the highway.
