Kalikot: Vehicular movement at different places in Kalikot district along the Karnali Highway was obstructed from Saturday night due to landslides that occurred following incessant rainfall. The landslides have caused significant disruption, impacting transportation and travel in the region.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the landslides occurred at Gaganekhola in Kalikot, SkidkiJyula in Dailekh, and near Nagma, the border of Jumla and Kalikot, as stated by Tej Bahadur Rawat, Chief of Kalikot Police. Efforts are underway to clear the landslide debris at Gagane and Bihani to restore normalcy. Additionally, the flood on Phugad stream has prevented motorcycles and light vehicles from operating.
Vehicles heading towards Surkhet from Kalikot have been stranded at various locations due to this vehicular disruption. Authorities are working to address the situation and ensure the safety of travelers and commuters.
