Kathmandu: CPN (UML) Chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has warmly welcomed senior vice-chairman of the Aam Janata Party, Upendra Sah, along with other leaders, into the UML. At a programme organized at the UML party central office, Sah and several cadres from the Aam Janata Party officially joined the UML. Sah, who has previously been a central committee member of UML, was accompanied by leaders Manoj Kumar Yadav, Kantidevi Mahato, Simal Kumari Sah, and others from the Rautahat and Dhanusha districts.
According to National News Agency Nepal, UML Chairman Oli expressed his gratitude to the new members for their decision to join UML, leaving behind what he described as the “wrong path.” In his welcome address, Oli emphasized the party’s commitment to peace, humanity, development, and happiness, encouraging the new members to collaborate within the “large family of UML.”
Oli also addressed the party’s stance on former President Bidya Devi Bhandari’s membership, clarifying that she had renounced her membership following her election as President. He indicated that party membership would not be maintained by fraudulent means, such as paying non-existent receipts. Oli further explained that Bhandari has not submitted an application for membership renewal or new membership.
In addition, PM Oli mentioned that he had not anticipated former President Bhandari causing difficulties in the party unity process by aligning with some discontented leaders and those defeated within the party’s sister organizations.
