Preparations Complete for Teej Festival at Pashupathinath

Kathmandu: The Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) has announced that it has finalized necessary preparations to accommodate the large number of devotees expected to visit Pashupathinath Temple for the Haritalika (Teej) festival on Tuesday.

According to National News Agency Nepal, PADT has organized comprehensive measures including security, volunteer coordination, prasad offerings, queue management, emergency health services, recreational activities such as songs, music, hymns, lighting celebrations, and arrangements for cow donations by devotees.

Four separate entry routes have been established for accessing the temple from the surrounding Pashupati area. The first route allows entry from the north gate (Uttardhoka) via Gaurighat-Umakunda-Dakshinmurti-Rudragadeshwor-Basuki, with an exit through the Kailash south gate.

The second route facilitates entry from the west small door via the Iron bridge, with an exit through the Shankaracharya math south gate. A queue has been arranged from Pingalasthan-Chaar Shivala-Panchdev-Bajra Ghar to the South Door, near Kotilingeshwar Temple.

The third route provides access through a small door near the Kotilingeshwar temple, leading devotees into the temple courtyard and exiting through the south door.

The fourth route involves entering and exiting the temple through the east gate. Inside the main temple, eight distinct queues have been established to streamline the process for devotees wishing to offer prayers, as stated by Subhash Chandra Joshi, member-secretary at PADT.
