Kathmandu: Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, has directed subordinates to fully meet the targets set in their performance contracts. Minister Gurung reminded the Secretary and chiefs of departments and divisions under the Ministry that they need to work untiringly to achieve goals set for the year.
According to National News Agency Nepal, a performance contract was signed between Minister Gurung and Secretary Radhika Aryal during a programme held at the Ministry. Other officials in the Ministry and subordinate departments and divisions also signed contracts with their respective chiefs. The contract is valid for the fiscal year 2082/83.
During the occasion, Minister Gurung committed to amending old laws and enacting new ones, constructing new infrastructures, and producing a skilled workforce. He announced that NTV World would be brought into operation, and various national documents, except bank notes, would be printed at the Security Printing Centre within this year.
Minister Gurung acknowledged that last fiscal year’s enforcement of the performance contract was slow and directed employees to avoid past underperformance. He emphasized the need for increased capital spending.
Secretary Radhika Aryal noted that last fiscal year’s performance saw a 19 percent progress, but capital spending remained unsatisfactory. She assured that the Ministry is ready to resolve any issues.
Joint Secretary Koshhari Niraula emphasized that the performance contract would enhance employee responsibility, making its implementation essential.
