Kathmandu: The Nepal-India Cross Border Media Conclave 2025 concluded on Saturday by issuing a 17-point declaration paper. Organized by Media for Border Harmony, Nepal, the event aimed to address and unveil common issues affecting both nations.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the declaration paper was announced by journalist Kranti Shah, who emphasized the conclave’s commitment to promoting fact-based reporting. The initiative seeks to protect the media from misinformation and disinformation. It also highlights the importance of covering genuine issues pertinent to citizens of both countries while being mindful of elements that could incite conflicts or disputes within societies.
Former chairman of Madhes Province Mass Media Authority, Shyam Sundar Yadav, urged the continuation of such events to foster dialogue and understanding. Similarly, Amarendra Tiwari, chairman of Media for Border Harmony, India, stressed the necessity of these gatherings to enhance bilateral relations between Nepal and India.
Minister for Water Supply, Pradeep Kumar Yadav, highlighted the significance of the declaration paper in supporting efforts to strengthen Nepal-India relations. He expressed hope that the document would contribute to creating a conducive environment for further expansion of ties between the two countries.
