Kathmandu: The CPN (UML) has voiced serious concerns over recent troubling events in the country, highlighting the gravity of the situation. The party expressed sorrow over the incident where numerous deaths occurred due to police firing during protests, and hundreds were injured.
According to National News Agency Nepal, UML General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel and Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Gyawali issued a joint statement, paying tribute to those who lost their lives and wishing a speedy recovery for the injured. The party highlighted the significant damage to public and private property, estimated to be worth billions, and the release of thousands of inmates from prison.
The statement emphasized the need to review the role of security agencies in these events. In light of the challenging circumstances, the UML urged its members to stay united and cautious, urging the President to initiate meaningful dialogue to address the demands of the younger generation. The party underscored that the solution to the current political situation should be pursued through constitutional and democratic processes.
