Kathmandu: GenZ, who demonstrated taking different agenda of change, have vandalized and torched different public properties at various places in the country, including in Kathmandu Valley, on September 8 and 9. The vandalism and arson attack caused a big damage to public, government, and private properties as well as huge losses of lives and properties in course of demonstration. Hundreds of injured are undergoing treatment at different hospitals.
According to National News Agency Nepal, a different scenario was seen today. The GenZ are found involved in clearing debris from the damaged areas in groups with different equipment including brooms and shovels. A large number of GenZ are cleaning the Singha Durbar area, including the four gates of Singha Durbar, Supreme Court, Maitighar Mandala, Babarmahal, Putalisadak, Thapathali, as well as New Baneshwor and Min Bhawan, among others.
Some volunteers have been distributing drinking water to those involved in cleanliness. A GenZ member, Dan Singh Dhami, mentioned that a cleanliness campaign has been launched from the road to thoroughfares. More than four groups are involved in cleaning the Singha Durbar premises.
Similarly, in Damauli of Tanahu district, local youths are involved in clearing debris from the public properties and government offices damaged during the vandalism and arson carried out during the demonstration by the GenZ youths on Monday and Tuesday.
