Kathmandu: The Tribhuvan International Airport will remain closed till noon today, citing an adverse situation.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the leading air service, Buddha Air, has informed that it will not be able to conduct flights until midday today. The airline has issued a notice apologizing for the inconvenience caused to its customers, promising to refund the ticket fees for those affected by the cancellations.
Despite the closure, the Air Service Operators’ Association has expressed its commitment to continue serving the public. In a press note, Association Chairperson Manoj Karki urged the affiliated companies to be prepared to offer their services when needed, despite the challenging circumstances.
The Association also expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives during the protest on Monday and extended condolences to the bereaved family members. It wished a speedy recovery for those injured in the incident.
