Kathmandu: The National Human Rights Foundation (HURFON) has urgently called for the establishment of peace, security, mutual harmony, and the maintenance of law and order in Nepal, emphasizing the protection of democracy and human rights.
According to National News Agency Nepal, HURFON has strongly urged the President, the protesting factions, the Nepali Army, political parties, civil society, and all relevant bodies to uphold and ensure democracy and human rights. The organization has expressed the need for a fair investigation into the incidents of injuries sustained by protestors and security personnel during recent agitations.
In a statement released by HURFON Chairperson Bhawani Prasad Kharel, the organization has demanded action against those responsible for setting fire to records and important documents in ministries, courts, and government offices. The statement emphasized the necessity of guaranteeing peace and security in the country and highlighted the importance of maintaining control over thousands of prisoners.
Chairperson Kharel has also stressed the need for the establishment of a high-level judicial probe commission to address these issues effectively.
