Beijing: A book titled ‘Sumadhur Sambandhaka Sattari Sal’, which translates to 70 years of friendly ties, was released in Beijing on Saturday. Published by the Nepal-China Media Forum, the book was unveiled during a program at the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the event saw the attendance of over 80 Chinese academicians and other participants. Kishor Shrestha, Chairman of the Forum, shared that the book provides a comprehensive written account of Nepal-China relations. It marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Chinese scholars at the event expressed that the book would become a significant reference for Nepal-China relations. Nepal’s Ambassador to China, Dr. Krishna Prasad Oli, highlighted that the book documents the major milestones of the 70-year diplomatic relationship, ensuring that the history of bilateral relations remains preserved.
Additionally, Prof. Qiang Xiaoxian from Xiamen University, representing the Confucius Institute, and Ren Chiqang, assistant general secretary of the Yunnan International Economic, Trade and Cultural Cooperation, praised the book. They noted its utility and official nature, emphasizing that its publication in both Chinese and Nepali languages aids readers in understanding the bilateral relations’ context.
The event also included a question-and-answer session. The book covers major treaties signed between Nepal and China, China’s assistance in Nepal’s infrastructure development, Chinese investment in Nepal, and other pertinent issues.
