Kathmandu: The International Calendar Decision Committee of the World Astro Federation (WAF) has announced the auspicious time for the Bijaya Dashami ‘tika’ rituals in various countries. The committee’s member secretary, Acharya Lakshman Panthi, revealed that a meeting held today established these timings for distributing and receiving the Dashain ‘tika’.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the auspicious timings were determined based on astronomical calculations of the ‘tithi’ and other related factors, tailored to the local time of each country. This announcement caters to queries from followers of Vedic Sanatana Hinduism residing across the globe.
The committee specified that in Nepal, the auspicious time for the Dashain tika is set at 11:53 am on October 2. In India, Delhi will observe it at 11:49 am the same day. For the United States, New York will have its time at 11:25 am on October 1, while Frankfurt, Kentucky, will observe it at 11:57 am, and Owensboro, Kentucky, at 11:05 am. Other U.S. cities include Texas at 11:33 am, Washington DC at 11:35 am, California at 11:11 am, and Colorado at 11:29 am.
For Canada, Toronto’s auspicious time is set at 11:55 am, and Vancouver at 11:33 am on October 1. European timings include Geneva, Switzerland at 10:25 am, and Malta at 10:55 am on October 2. Lisbon, Portugal will observe it at 9:23 am, London, UK at 9:17 am, Paris, France at 9:57 am, and Oslo, Norway at 10:03 am on the same day.
Tokyo, Japan will have its auspicious time at 11:31 am on October 2. In Australia, the timing for Sydney is at 11:43 am, Melbourne at 11:19 am, Brisbane at 11:53 am, Adelaide at 11:35 am, Canberra at 11:51 am, Tasmania at 11:45 am, Perth at 11:25 am, and Darwin at 11:47 am. Wellington, New Zealand will observe the tika at 11:23 am on October 2.
Other regions include Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at 11:11 am, Abu Dhabi, UAE at 10:55 am, Doha, Qatar at 10:13 am, Saudi Arabia at 10:55 am, and Tel Aviv, Israel at 11:35 am. In Asia, Yangon, Myanmar’s time is at 10:27 am, Bangkok, Thailand at 10:45 am, Singapore at 11:09 am, and Hong Kong at 11:45 am. Seoul, South Korea will observe the tika at 10:57 am.
