Families of Gen-Z Protests Martyrs Demand Recognition for Sacrifices


Kathmandu: The families of martyrs from the Gen-Z protests, along with injured individuals, have called for the recognition and value of their sacrifices, emphasizing that their efforts should not be in vain.



According to National News Agency Nepal, during a program held in Kathmandu, attendees highlighted that the sacrifices made during the Gen-Z protests on September 8 and 9 were aimed at eradicating corruption and misrule. The martyrdom was seen as a stand against pervasive corruption and the concentration of power among a few individuals.



Aditya Rawal, an injured protestor from Achham district, stressed the need for the government to develop concrete plans to support the livelihoods of the martyrs’ families and those injured. Similarly, Gokarna Bista from Gulmi district and Suresh Aidi from Humla expressed their ongoing fear and urged the government to ensure a safe environment and provide medical treatment for injured protestors.



Gen-Z representative Supriya Nepali reiterated that their protests sought political stability and advocated for a thorough investigation into the assets of politicians and administrators who have held positions since 2046 BS.
