Government Making Efforts to Boost Confidence of Private Sector, Asserts Finance Minister

Kathmandu: Finance Minister Rameshore Prasad Khanal emphasized the government’s continuous efforts to enhance the confidence of the private sector. He made this assertion during a meeting with key business leaders, including Chandra Prasad Dhakal, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Birendra Raj Pandey, Chairperson of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries, and Kamalesh Kumar Agrawal, Chairperson of Nepal Chamber of Commerce.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the Finance Minister highlighted the government’s initiatives, such as revenue exemptions, banking subsidies, and insurance facilitation. He also announced the promotion of transparent trading through the implementation of an online database system in customs, which was inaugurated on September 25. This system is expected to address business community concerns regarding frequent amendments to the reference book.

The newly implemented database system serves as a digital tool for analyzing goods received for customs checks, simplifying the comparison process, and aiding in the identification of trade costs. The leaders of the private sector organizations praised the government’s decision and encouraged entrepreneurs to take advantage of the new system, which was developed in response to their requests.
