Banepa: The government has decided to allocate Rs 30 million to support the construction of a state-of-the-art film studio in Banepa, Kavrepalanchowk. This decision marks a significant step in bolstering the technological infrastructure of the Nepali film industry.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Film Development Board signed an agreement to assist the ongoing construction of CINEPA Studio. The agreement was formalized by Undersecretary Ramkrishna Aryal from the Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Section of the Ministry and Board Chair Dinesh DC.
DC highlighted the studio’s objective to enhance the technological capability of the Nepali film sector. The studio is expected to offer integrated services to filmmakers, enabling them to compete on an international level. “This will mark a new take-off for the Nepali film industry. The project stands as an investment in the future,” DC stated.
The CINEPA Studio will be equipped with facilities for film shooting, sound recording, editing, visual effects, color grading, and post-production. Upon completion, it is anticipated that Nepali filmmakers will no longer need to travel abroad for technical work, thus reducing production costs and promoting industry growth.
