Six Writ Petitions Challenge House of Representatives Dissolution in Supreme Court

Kathmandu: With the resumption of registration of writ petitions at the Supreme Court from today, six writ petitions challenging the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR) have been submitted so far.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the Supreme Court had suspended all activities except for the registration of writ petitions on habeas corpus, urgent petitions, and hearings after it was severely damaged during a Gen-Z protest on September 8 and 9.

The flow of writ petitions challenging the HoR dissolution continues unabated, with SC Spokesperson Arjun Prasad Koirala indicating that a study is currently underway for the registration of these petitions. The full court meeting, which took place on October 12, had resolved to resume the registration of writ petitions and conduct hearings starting today.
