Kathmandu: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has asserted that the services provided by the law courts must not be interrupted even for a single day. During a joint meeting involving the Board of Directors of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) and a delegation from the Supreme Court, she emphasized the necessity of maintaining uninterrupted court services.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the meeting was organized to explore alternative arrangements following the damage to the Kathmandu District Court building caused by the Gen-Z demonstrations on September 9. Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, Bimal Paudel, pressed the government to allocate the CAAN building situated in Babarmahal to the Kathmandu District Court as a temporary solution.
In response, Prime Minister Karki instructed that the CAAN building be made available, underscoring the imperative that court services remain operational. CAAN has provisionally agreed to provide its building, contingent upon reaching an understanding with the court. PM Karki urged CAAN to finalize the arrangement to ensure the continuation of judicial services without delay.
