Kathmandu: A German tourist and his tour guide have been reported missing on the Dhaulagiri Circuit Trekking Route, a well-known trail traversing the Myagdi and Mustang districts. The missing individuals were last seen during their journey from the base camp of Mt Dhaulagiri in Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality-4, Myagdi, heading towards Dhampus Peak in Thasang Rural Municipality-1, Mustang.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the tourist, identified as 32-year-old German national Damino Del Phaplo, and his guide, Nepal’s Mima Sherpa, have been out of contact since Friday night. Efforts to locate them were initiated by the local authorities.
Deputy Superintendent of Police of Mustang, Chiring Kippa Lama, stated that despite deploying a helicopter from the Seven Summit Trekking Company on Saturday, the search had not yielded any results. The authorities continue to search for the missing individuals and are exploring all possible avenues to ensure their safe recovery.
