Kathmandu: Acting President of the Nepali Congress, Purna Bahadur Khadka, has emphasized the Chhath festival’s role in promoting social goodwill, harmony, and national unity, as well as its contribution to building a prosperous society.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Khadka extended his best wishes on the occasion, highlighting that the festival strengthens the spirit of togetherness, discipline, family unity, and social harmony. He remarked on Nepal’s diverse cultural landscape, noting how the country’s multi-lingual, multi-caste, multi-cultural, and multi-religious nature is enriched by festivals that unite its people in mutual harmony, tolerance, and national unity.
Khadka expressed that these celebrations have reinforced social ties and played a significant role in promoting national identity and fostering a prosperous nation. He wished peace, happiness, and prosperity to all Nepali citizens, both at home and abroad, expressing hope that the Chhath festival would inspire everyone to cement social goodwill and harmony.
