Sixteen Political Party Representatives and Gen-Z Members to Participate in Tripartite Consultations


Kathmandu: Sixteen representatives from political parties and 14 members from the Gen-Z group are set to participate in tripartite talks convened by Prime Minister Sushila Karki at 4 p.m. today. The discussions will take place at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar and will involve key office-bearers and second-tier leaders from major political parties that were represented in the dissolved House of Representatives.



According to National News Agency Nepal, the meeting aims to create a conducive atmosphere for the election. The government will be represented by Prime Minister Karki, Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, Minister for Communication and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel, and Prime Minister’s Chief Advisor Ajaya Bhadra Khanal.



The Gen-Z participants will include members from the ‘Indigenous Gen-Z Collective’, ‘How to Nation Development’, and ‘Gen-Z Movement Alliance’. From the political parties, the Nepali Congress will be represented by General Secretary Gagan Thapa and Spokesperson Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, while CPN (UML) will include central member Mahesh Bartaula. Barsha Man Pun and Madhav Sapkota will represent the CPN (Maoist Centre).



The discussions will also see participation from Swarnim Wagle, Vice President and central member Nisha Dangi from the Rastriya Swatantra Party, as well as General Secretary Rajendra Gurung and spokesperson Mohan Shrestha from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party.



The Prime Minister’s Secretariat has outlined an agenda focusing on discussions to create an environment for the elections scheduled for March 5, 2026, and to forge political understanding on related matters. The government has been engaging in a series of talks with concerned parties to ensure the successful conduction of the House of Representatives election.



Previous discussions occurred on October 21 between the government and political parties at Prime Minister Karki’s invitation. Additionally, talks have been held between Prime Minister Karki and the Gen-Z group, with President Ramchandra Paudel present.
