Kathmandu: Sixteen children have been rescued from different parts of India and returned to their families in Madhes Province.
According to National News Agency Nepal, these Nepali children were trafficked to various locations including Bombay, Delhi, and Bihar. Their rescue was facilitated by an Indian charity organization, ‘Kin India’, in coordination with Indian police officials.
The children, originally from the districts of Mahottari, Dhanusha, Siraha, Rautahat, and Saptari, were handed over to their families in a ceremony attended by Ranjit Yadav, the officiating secretary at the Ministry of Sports and Social Welfare of Madhes Province. Sanjiv Mahato, the Madhes Province coordination officer for the National Child Rights Council, provided details of the operation, highlighting the collaborative efforts between Kin India and local law enforcement to ensure the children’s safe return.
