Kathmandu: The 27th general assembly of the General Practice and Emergency Medicine Association of Nepal (GPEMAN) held today has unanimously elected a new executive committee under the chairmanship of Dr Bishwaraj Dawadi.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Dr Suresh Prasad Nepal has been elected as Senior Vice-President, while Dr Tirthman Shrestha will serve as Vice-President. The position of General Secretary has been filled by Dr Bikas Gauchan, with Dr Santosh Bastola taking on the role of Joint Secretary. Dr Sanjay Kumar Gupta has been appointed as Treasurer, and Dr Aarati Shah will serve as Joint Treasurer for the next three years.
Additionally, the executive committee includes members Dr Aishana Joshi, Dr Dayaram Lamsal, Dr Deependra Timilsina, and Dr Rajeev Raj Thapliya. This organisation, established in 2010, consists of over 800 doctors who work in both emergency and general medical fields across government and private hospitals, as well as health institutions in remote areas.
The newly elected President, Dr Dawadi, expressed confidence that the new leadership will play a role in maintaining the unity of the organisation, advancing professional capabilities, and contributing to emergency health services.
