Kathmandu: Eight different political parties in Nepal have agreed to unite, with the formal announcement scheduled for November 5. The parties have collectively issued a Party Unification Memorandum of Understanding, indicating their commitment to the unification process, which will be officially declared in an upcoming announcement on Wednesday.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the memorandum of understanding has been signed by leaders from eight parties: the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center), CPN (Unified Socialist), Nepal Socialist Party, CPN (Socialist), Jana Samajwadi Party Nepal, Nepal Communist Party, CPN (Maoist-Socialist), Nepal Communist Party (Chiran Pun), and CPN (Communist).
The National Unification Conference, scheduled for the same day, will serve as the platform to formally announce the unification. During this event, the parties plan to pass the manifesto, approve an interim statute, and establish a central committee to guide the newly unified political entity.
