Kathmandu: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has initiated efforts to manage the tangled wires and cables causing inconvenience across various parts of the metropolis. Inspector at the KMC, Rameswor Paudel, informed RSS that the wire management project has been launched due to issues faced by pedestrians and accidents involving vehicles, attributed to the scattered wires.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the initial phase of the wire management initiative is being carried out in the Putalisadak, Thapathali, and Babarmahal areas. The issue has been exacerbated by different internet service providers and space TV networks utilizing poles installed by the Nepal Electricity Authority for electric lines, leading to a web of tangled wires. These companies, although they pay a fee to the authority for the installation of wires, have not contributed to managing the scattered wires.
