Mustang: Two Nepali tourists who were trapped in snow at Chharka Bherol on the Mustang-Dolpa border were successfully rescued by a helicopter this morning. The operation was carried out by an Air Dynasty helicopter in coordination with the Indrabaks Battalion of the Nepali Army.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the individuals rescued are Manish GC from Parbat and Santosh Kunwar from Myagdi. Mustang’s Chief District Officer, Bishnu Prasad Bhusal, confirmed that the pair had been caught in heavy snowfall and were rescued this morning. They embarked on their journey to Upper Mustang on October 26 and arrived at Chharka via Sangta village. The rescue effort took place six days after they became trapped.
The trekkers lost their way in Chharka Bherol, prompting a local construction worker to alert the local administration via a satellite phone after encountering the tourists midway and parting ways upon reaching Chharka Bherol.
