Kathmandu: Singer Kamal BK ‘Nirmohi’ has been honoured with this year’s ‘Kanhaiya-Anjana National Music Award-2082’. Nirmohi was celebrated with a certificate of appreciation, a scarf, and a cash prize of Rs 51 thousand at a ceremony in Kathmandu. The recognition highlights his contribution to promoting the Nepali music sector and acknowledges his long-standing involvement despite recent health challenges.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the Chairman of the Film Development Board, Dinesh DC, presented the award to Nirmohi. During the ceremony, Chairman DC emphasized that such award programmes inject new enthusiasm and positive energy into artists, motivating them to remain creative. He stressed the importance of holding such events regularly across various fields.
Chairman DC also expressed gratitude to Kanhaiya Singh Pariyar and Anjana Gurung, patrons of the award committee, for their efforts in fostering the growth of Nepali music from abroad. The award’s patron, singer, and musician Kanhaiya Singh Pariyar, stated that the award aims to honour senior artists and music creators who have made significant contributions to Nepali music throughout their lives.
