Kathmandu: Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Jagadish Kharel, has highlighted the importance of finding happiness even amidst life’s sorrows and struggles, suggesting that it can lead to a more content and easier life.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Minister Kharel shared his views during a program titled “Self-Awakening in Dialogue and Communication: Awakening to Happiness, Peace and Prosperity,” organized by Press Council Nepal in collaboration with Jeevan Vigyan at Sanchargram. He emphasized that accepting life’s challenges with self-satisfaction and positive thinking can contribute to lasting mental peace.
Drawing from his personal experience, Minister Kharel reflected on his journey from journalism to his current role as a minister. He noted the increased pressure and lack of time to connect with old friends since taking on his ministerial responsibilities.
Additionally, LP Bhanu, a spiritual teacher from Jeevan Vigyan, expressed concern over the rising mental health issues in Nepal. He attributed the increase in suicide and mental stress to people’s inability to seek happiness within themselves. Bhanu advocated for the practice of Jeevan Vigyan, which encourages self-realization, meditation, and self-reflection as ways to maintain mental balance and reduce suicide cases.
Padam Raj Joshi, a member of Press Council Nepal, also emphasized the significance of internal happiness, urging individuals to cultivate a sense of joy within themselves. The event was attended by notable figures including Secretary at the Communications Ministry, Radhika Aryal, Chairperson of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, Nirmala Sharma, as well as media personnel and representatives from various concerned bodies.
