Ministry Seeks Comprehensive Land Details from Schools and Learning Centres

Kathmandu: The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has initiated a nationwide effort to gather information concerning land ownership and its use by community schools and learning centres. This move aims to address and understand the current status and any issues associated with these properties.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the Ministry plans to collect detailed information through the Center for Education and Human Resource Development. The focus will be on assessing the land registered under the names of community schools and learning centres, evaluating how this land is being used, and identifying any existing problems related to land management.

Minister of Education, Science and Technology Mahabir Pun has directed the Center to proceed with this initiative following reports from various districts about issues such as land encroachment and misappropriation affecting schools and learning centres. With 73 percent of the 35,447 schools in the country being community schools, this effort is crucial to ensure proper land management and utilisation.
