Lisbon: The Nepali Embassy in Portugal has urged Nepalis living in Nepal and various countries in the Middle East to avoid fraud in the name of working visas to Portugal.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the Embassy issued a press release on Wednesday evening, urging all concerned parties to exercise caution. This advisory comes in the context of the Portuguese government’s decision to suspend the issuance of all types of working visas, except for highly skilled jobs, effective from October 23, 2025.
The warning is timely, as there have been reports of Nepalis in Nepal and the Middle East being scammed under the pretext of securing jobs in Portugal. The Nepali Embassy has cautioned against engaging in or facilitating such illegal activities.
The Embassy clarified that it is currently impossible to obtain a working visa for Portugal, as the government has suspended the issuance of such visas. It has requested all concerned parties to avoid any fraudulent schemes promising employment in Portugal.
