Janakpurdham: Dr Surendra Labh Karna, the newly appointed Chief of Madhesh Province, has expressed his commitment to work for the protection of the Constitution and good governance. While assuming office at the Office of the Chief of Province in Janakpurdham today, he told the media that he would fulfill his duties fairly within the powers granted to him by the Constitution.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Province Chief Dr Karna expressed his intention to remain a journalist-friendly province chief and urged media persons for advice, suggestions, and cooperation. He appealed to everyone to move forward by respecting the historical and cultural identity of the region, stating that Madhesh Province is the birthplace of goddess Sita.
Dr Karna has had a long career as a professor of Economics at Tribhuvan University. After retiring from his academic role, he also served as a member of the National Planning Commission.
