Efforts on to Augment Indian Investment in Nepal: Chair KC


Kathmandu: Chairman of Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI), Sunil KC, has highlighted the significant potential for Indian investment in Nepal. He stated that NICCI is actively working to enhance Indian investment in the country.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Chairman KC addressed the Society of Economic Journalists, Nepal (SEJON) in Kathmandu on Thursday, emphasizing the necessity of policy and legal reforms to attract foreign investment effectively. He noted that Indian businesspersons are keen to invest in Nepal, and NICCI is striving to eliminate inconvenience and obstacles in the investment process. NICCI is also planning to establish an office in New Delhi, India, and is considering organizing an investment summit in India to attract more Indian investment to Nepal.



Chairman KC further mentioned that NICCI prioritizes investment security, promotion, and reinvestment. He emphasized the importance of providing Indian investors with opportunities for market expansion. KC also underscored the significance of the IT sector in facilitating capital flow.



Other speakers at the interaction, including NICCI’s Vice Chairmen Rabi Kumar Rayabara and Kunal Kayal, General Secretary Rajan Sharma, and Treasurer Kiran Malla, also highlighted the need for policy and legal reforms to initiate new ventures.
