Kirtipur: No match has been scheduled for today, the seventh day of the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2025. Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), the organiser of the franchise-based Twenty20 tournament, had earlier announced in match fixtures that today would be a rest day.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the contest will resume tomorrow, Monday, with two matches at the regular venue, the Tribhuvan University (TU) International Cricket Stadium, Kirtipur. The first match, starting at 11:45 am, will feature a face-off between defending champions Janakpur Bolts and the high-flying Biratnagar Kings, who have secured two consecutive wins. The second match, a day-night encounter, is scheduled to begin at 4:00 pm between Karnali Yaks and Sudurpaschim Royals.
In the current standings, Sudurpaschim Royals and Biratnagar Kings have each garnered four points from two matches, with Sudurpaschim leading on a better run-rate. Kathmandu Gorkhas, having played three matches, are in third place with two points.
A total of eight franchise-based teams are vying in the NPL for a winner’s prize of 11 million rupees. The teams participating include Janakpur Bolts, Sudurpaschim Royals, Karnali Yaks, Pokhara Avengers, Biratnagar Kings, Chitwan Rhinos, Kathmandu Gorkhas, and Lumbini Lions. The final is set for December 13.
