Kathmandu: Nine people injured during the Gen Z protest held on September 8-9 have received hand-outs and identity cards. Assistant Chief District Officer Chudamani Sharma Gautam stated that two more names were recommended to the Ministry of Home Affairs for relief assistance.
According to National News Agency Nepal, although the total number of injured during the protest in the district is 142, only eleven have so far approached the authority for hand-outs. Gautam mentioned that the expected number of injured individuals has not come forward for the relief, with some injured individuals indicating that their injuries were minor and did not necessitate visiting the authority for any hand-out.
The district administration has also urged the Gen Z leaders in the district to submit written details of the injured ones. The government has decided to provide Rs 20,000 as financial assistance to those receiving injury in the Gen Z protest.
