Dharan: Minister for Health and Population, Dr Sudha Gautam, has vowed to resolve problems related to public procurement in the health sector. Onsite inspections of health institutions and hospitals, supply of medicines, health service, and study of insurance schemes would be intensified as part of the health reform, she informed during her inspection visit at the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) on Tuesday. She vowed she would pay heed to the suggestions and recommendations from various sides for it and the implementation would be carried out based on need.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the Minister underlined, “Reform in all- in mental health, employee-focused programmes, medicine purchase, medical laboratory and public procurement process- is essential.” The hospitals are yet to cater fully to the patients, she said, reminding her efforts to improve the situation.
She also shared before the doctors and hospital employees that the government formed on the backup of Gen Z protest has aimed at building a corruption-free and transparent system. The health service is one of the significant areas that warrants adequate attention for it, Dr Gautam explained.
Minister Dr Gautam urged doctors and hospital employees to ensure hassle-free services to the patients. She sought adequate reporting on preparation for BPKIHS’s senate meeting.
