Birgunj: The Birgunj Customs Office has reported a significant revenue collection of Rs 75.59 billion over the first four months of the current fiscal year. This substantial amount was amassed from various imports, marking a notable performance in the customs office’s collection activities.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the customs office accrued Rs 22.9 billion from the importation of five different kinds of petroleum products alone. This figure highlights the significant contribution of petroleum imports to the overall revenue collected in this period. Additionally, the import of vehicles and auto spares brought in Rs 10.1 billion.
The customs office further reported that it collected Rs 4.58 billion from the import of iron and iron-made products. Garments imports contributed Rs 4.25 billion, while the import of machinery and their parts accounted for Rs 3.17 billion in revenue. Furthermore, the importation of electric machinery, equipment, and their parts added another Rs 3.07 billion to the revenue collected during the review period.
Overall, goods worth Rs 284.89 billion were brought into the country through the Birgunj Customs Office in the first four months of the current fiscal year, reflecting the volume of trade and the resultant revenue collection by the office.
