Dhulikhel: Up-gradation of Dhulikhel-Khawa road section along the Araniko Highway in Kavrepalanchowk has gained pace. With the signing of a contract with the new contractor for stalled road widening works last month, the task of re-widening has begun.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the Division Road Office, Bhaktapur, signed the contract with C-NA-1 Kali JV with a deadline to complete the works within 14 months. Chief of the office, senior divisional engineer Suman Yogesh, informed that the contract of Rs 315.6 million, excluding VAT, was signed for this project.
He further shared that blacktopping will be done in the wider area in the first phase by coming mid-April and remaining works will be carried out gradually. The re-widening of the road has been intensified through ‘cutting’ in several parts. Travel through the highway has turned tougher for the past three years due to delays in the construction works.
