Singha durbar: The government and Gen Z representatives late this evening signed a 10-point agreement at the Office of the Prime Minister, Singha Durbar. Prime Minister Sushila Karki and Bhoj Bikram Thapa, on behalf of those who attained martyrdom and were injured during the Gen Z movement, signed the pact.
According to National News Agency Nepal, following the agreement signing ceremony, PM Karki stated that the consensus would be a milestone in bringing transformations to the country. She emphasized that the agreement will guide future waves of change and contribute to strengthening the constitution, ultimately preventing bloodshed and disasters. She expressed solidarity with Gen Z, referring to them as her children, and highlighted the aspiration for the youth force to reach state power, with their ideas and thoughts serving as guiding principles for the State.
The agreement includes provisions addressing good governance, constitutional amendments, and the electoral system, aligning with the spirit of the Gen Z movement held on September 8-9. Government ministers, the chief secretary, and senior government officials were present at the occasion.
