Kathmandu: Nepali Congress leader Prakash Man Singh has lauded the role of the late Mangaladevi Singh in establishing the voices and rights of Nepali women. In his address to a programme organised by the Nepal Women Association, Kathmandu District chapter at Mangaladevi Park in Buddhanagar, marking the 100th birth anniversary of Mangaladevi Singh, the icon of the democratic movement, leader Singh highlighted her significant contributions. He emphasized that Mangaladevi was one of the fighters who strongly advocated for the franchise rights of women.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the programme was organised to recall the struggles and contributions of Mangaladevi to the improvement of women’s rights and the establishment of democracy. The event served as a platform to honor her legacy and the pivotal role she played in the democratic movement in Nepal, underscoring the continuing impact of her work on contemporary society.
