Bhimad: Bhimad Municipality has announced a subsidy initiative aimed at supporting local dairy farmers, offering Rs 10 per litre as part of its Milk Production Based Incentive Program Operation Procedure, 2082 BS. Mayor Dadhiraj Subedi confirmed the decision, highlighting the municipality’s commitment to boosting the dairy sector.
According to National News Agency Nepal, an agreement has been established between Bhimad Municipality and Bhimad Agricultural Enterprise Cooperatives to facilitate this subsidy. The cooperatives are tasked with distributing the subsidy amount directly to the dairy farmers, ensuring the financial assistance reaches its intended beneficiaries.
In addition to the subsidy, the municipality has set new milk pricing regulations. From Bhadra 1 to mid-Magh, the purchase price is fixed at Rs 110 per litre, while the wholesale and retail prices are set at Rs 120 and Rs 130 per litre, respectively. During the period from Falgun 1 to mid-Shrawan, the purchase price will increase to Rs 115, with the wholesale price at Rs 130 and the retail price at Rs 140 per litre.
