Dubai: The Nepali cricket team has set a modest victory target of 83 runs for Sri Lanka in the ongoing ACC U-19 Asia Cup. In a match held at the Sevens Stadium in Dubai, Nepal managed to score only 82 runs in 28.5 overs, showcasing a lackluster performance against the Sri Lankan side.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Sethmika Seneviratne from Sri Lanka played a pivotal role in dismantling Nepal’s innings, taking five wickets in 9.5 overs. His decisive bowling performance left Nepal struggling to put up a challenging total on the board.
The ACC U-19 Asia Cup features eight teams competing for the title. Nepal is part of Group ‘B’, alongside Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan. Group ‘A’ comprises teams from India, Pakistan, UAE, and Malaysia. The tournament commenced on Friday, drawing attention from cricket enthusiasts across the continent.
