Kathmandu: An international art camp and exhibition has commenced at Basantapur Durbar Square, Kathmandu, featuring artists from four different countries.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the event is organized by the National Artists Association of India in collaboration with Nepali artists. The exhibition showcases the talent of 13 artists from India, 14 from Nepal, two from Bangladesh, and nine from Sri Lanka. The program aims to foster cultural exchange and strengthen ties among the participating nations through artistic expression.
Biswajit Dam, the coordinator of the program and President of the National Artists Association of India, expressed his delight at visiting Nepal for the first time to hold an art exhibition. He remarked on the uniqueness and exceptional appeal of Basantapur, noting how its heritage art has captivated him. Dam believes that the event will help cultivate brotherhood by facilitating the exchange of artistic skills.
In a highlight of the camp, senior artist and President of the International Watercolor Society Nepal, NB Gurung, conducted a ‘live demonstration’ of his art, providing attendees with an opportunity to witness the creative process in action.
The exhibition was officially inaugurated during a ceremony at the Nepal Fine Arts Academy on Tuesday, marking the beginning of a vibrant cultural exchange through the medium of art.
